About Chance Haunted Ride

The Chance Haunted Ride is a family friendly Halloween haunted house.  It is free and open to the public the last four nights of October.  The Chance Haunted Ride started as a simple Halloween walk through in 1995.  Over the years, it morphed into a ride; then into a ride in an 18 wheeler trailer; and now, into a ride in two 18 wheeler trailers and several other Halloween displays.  Each year, about 2000 people visit the Chance Haunted Ride.

About the Ride

The ride consists of three trains of two cars each.  A train can hold four to eight people, depending on size.  So far, no adult has been too too tall or heavy to ride. Trains arrive every 4 minutes and the ride is about 12 minutes long.  Each train is controlled with a microprocessor and operates on an ebike battery.  The props are generally computer or microprocessor controlled.

How Scary is it?

The Chance Haunted Ride is intentionally not too scary.  Parents can ride through with the little ones.  Some kids between the ages of 3 and 6 will get scared before they go on the ride because they don't know what to expect.  If a parent tells the child, "It's a train ride", the child is usually ok.  If the parent says, "It is not scary", the child often becomes terrified.  The ride is fun for all ages.

How Long is the Wait?

Sometimes there is no line, and you can get on the ride right away.  Other times, such as Halloween night, the line can be 1.5 hours long.  When we are open, a streaming video of the line is on this page so you can check the crowd size before you head over.  Generally, the line is longest on Halloween night.  It is generally shortest all nights from 4 to 5pm, and just before we close at 9pm.  Feed the kids and have them use the restroom before you come.

Behavior

Because the Chance Haunted Ride is a family event, bad behavior, rough horseplay, and foul language from children or adults will not be tolerated.  Parents must be responsible for their children's behavior.  Smoking and/or alcohol are NOT permitted.  When parking, please respect the neighbor's yards.  Trash cans are available for candy wrappers, etc.  Help us keep the Chance Haunted Ride a wholesome experience that visitors of all ages will cherish for years to come.
